Flights into
the UK will normally land into either London Gatwick, which is close to
the M25 ("M" signifies "Motorway", which is a 6 lane major road with a
national 70 miles per hour (112 Km/h) speed limit), or London Heathrow,
which is alongside the M4. A number of international flights also come
into Bristol and Exeter.
It is a little known fact that you
can fly to Cornwall, by using two new services, (June 2005 & March 2004), which
is operated
by BMIbaby from Birmingham
Airport
and Durham Tees Valley Airport to Newquay and Air
Southwest,
from London Gatwick, to Plymouth. There are
also
services
from
Plymouth
to
other
regional
airports.
The
flight
costs as little as £20.00 plus tax, on a single leg, and takes 50 minutes
in
the air. Sometimes you get a free trip to Newquay included in the itinerary which
adds another 30 minutes to the flight time to, or from London.
Flights
can
also be
taken
from many other UK regional airports either direct to Plymouth, or via
Gatwick using this service.
In March 2002, the Irish carrier
Ryanair
announced a daily cut price service from London
Stansead to Newquay
Airport on the north coast of Cornwall, just 45 minutes from the Inn.
The fare is an incredible £9.00 each way.
