Leisure opportunities in Cornwall are incredibly varied, from free-fall parachuting to potholing, from deep sea diving to yachting, from hunting and fishing to conservation. As if this weren't enough, Cornwall has an extremely rich and varied history, there are man made structures older than the pyramids of Egypt, mines and fishing ports that were old before Christ was born, and trade routes with far-away lands so long before Columbus that England was still an island of separate Kingdoms. The myriad attractions of Cornwall would require a web site that would dwarf Microsoft's offering.

In attempting to select useful data, I have been torn between what to include / exclude, trying to present what was included in a brief and informative way, and trying to deal with the fact that the vast majority of attractions rely almost exclusively on traditional paper publicity and promotional material. There is so much of this that as a Devon and Cornwall Tourist Board officer told me recently while researching this site "I doubt we have even 2% of attractions listed...despite literally tons of brochures...there's just too much to list."

So, with the growth of the Internet, an appeal to everyone, if you know of a Cornish attraction that has a web site, please send us the URL, and we will put the link up.

This will not only prevent more paper brochures being printed, it will help to form an up to date and publicly accessible database of attractions. Eventually, with the passage of time and the ever increasing popularity of the Net, many sites such as this will achieve what one organization has found impossible. Even if you only contribute one URL, maybe your own attraction, you will be helping to provide immediate and free data access to the world, and in doing so promote everything that is wonderful and unique about Cornwall.

In closing, what is there for you to do during your visit to Cornwall? The answer is that there truly is something for everybody, no matter what your age, interests, what season it is, what the weather is, what your budget is, Cornwall has something for you, in all probability far too much for you to fit into any holiday schedule. Once here you can take advantage of the local knowledge of the landlord and regulars, and paper brochures, to plan and fill any itinerary.
